Laughter and fun make up our Nursery ministry at Avalon, where kids from birth to 3 years old come to learn of God’s love for them.
It is our aim to partner with families to teach children Biblical principles so that in God’s timing kids will come into a relationship with Him. We strive to provide an experience for kids that will be a highlight of their week.
Nursery (0-24 months)
Our nursery rooms are open during all services and are staffed and equipped to provide for all the tender loving care that your little ones require to sense God’s love for them while you are attending the service.Located to the left of the front entrance
Preschool (2 years- 3 years)
During the Sunday school hour carefully selected activities are waiting as children arrive—a time designated for kids to feel welcomed and greeted individually. Following the activity, children join together for their group lesson. Music and creative teaching are brought together to present the Bible lesson in a delightful way. During the main worship services the children have supervised play time where they can learn and develop relationships with each other and a caring adult. ** Children move up to their new Sunday school class at the end of the summer on the Sunday after Labor Day in September.Located down the main hallway and to the left
Weekly Service Check-in Procedure
- Sign your child’s name on our attendance sheet located on the table by the nursery doors.
- Each child will be given a two-part numbered sticker on which the parents will fill out their name, allergies, and special instructions for our staff.
- The longer part of the sticker will be placed on the back of the child's clothing. The shorter sticker will stay with the parent and will be presented when the child is being picked up after the service.
If we need you at any time during the service your child’s number will flash on the auditorium screen. This number system also insures that you are the only one to pick up your child at the end of service.
* It is at check-in that you also provide diapers, a drink, and any other items your child may need for the following hour.
Wellness Policy
In order to maintain a healthy environment for all our children and staff, we ask that any child who is ill not attend the Nursery or Preschool Class. Guidelines are available in our Nursery rooms. Parents whose child seems (to our staff) to be ill will be called out from the service to care for their child.
Special Needs
For your convenience, we also offer a private space for nursing mothers (just outside the Worship Center doors connecting to the main hallway), as well as video feeds of our services in the Coffee Cove and hallways for children or adults with special needs.
